GMR are a volunteer run, community, non-profit miniature railway.

We are located within Godmanchester Community Plant Nursery & Cafe, Park Lane, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire.

Godmanchester Community Plant Nursery 

 

Godmanchester Community Plant Nursery covers four and a half acres with orchards, nuttery, meadows, vegetable gardens, flower gardens, bee hives, a woodland walk, and a large variety of wildlife!

Onsite you can purchase plants, and there is also a gift shop.

Muddy Trowel Cafe 

 

The Muddy Trowel Cafe offers homemade lunches, locally sourced savouries (famous sausage rolls), cakes, and hot drinks, with vegan/gluten-free options and both indoor and outdoor seating. 

 

It is also child-friendly, dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible.

Construction Progress

GMR has made amazing progress so far: 

Volunteers doing amazing work for their community;

  • Digging track foundations, clearing large bramble areas and building fencing, from repurposed fences. Thank you for your time and dedication. 
  • Essential digger work, clearing and digging trenches for the railway track. Thank you Cambridge Grandscapes Ltd, for your kindness and support. 
  • A lovely donation of a beautiful bug hotel by Wild about Huntingdon. Thank you, it will be enjoyed by the community.
  • Rose Building Supplies have donated and delivered building materials for the main station platform. Thank you this has really sped up progress and helped with the project immensely.

10:00-14:00 Thursday – Saturday

 

Train running days will be mostly on select Saturdays and selected dates in school holidays, throughout the year. 

 

Train running season: March to October. 

 

All train running dates are subject to weather permitting.
